Skinner's October Discovery Auction to Offer Toys & Dolls and Extensive Collection of Coca-Cola Memorabilia

 MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – October 6, 2011 – Skinner, Inc. will host a Discovery auction on October 12th and 13th in its Marlborough gallery. The two-day event promises to offer something for every buyer and seller, for every taste and budget.

Session I, to be held on Wednesday, October 12th, features ephemera, toys & dolls and collectibles. Over 800 lots will be offered ranging from the historical to the whimsical. Included are a variety of bisque, papier-mâché, fashion and collectible dolls. Also available are Golden and Silver Age comic books, postcards, as well as dime novels/nickel weeklies. Session I also features an extensive collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia from the Lynn family of California comprised of Coca-Cola advertising, signage, company publications, promotional products, and more.

Thursday’s Session II features 18th-20th century furniture and decorative arts, bronzes, European ceramics, glass & lamps, oriental rugs and textiles, paintings, prints, and works on paper.

Named ‘Best of Boston for antiques west of the city’ by Boston Magazine, Skinner’s Discovery auctions are held monthly. Discovery auctions include a broad selection of estate furnishings, decorative accessories, carpets and rugs, and artwork from the 18th – 20th century and offer anyone the opportunity to simply watch or actively participate in the excitement of auction.

To view the auction property prior to the auction, attend the auction preview in person on Tuesday, October 11th, 12-5 p.m., Wednesday, October 12th, 10-6 p.m., or Thursday, October 13th before the auction, 9-10 a.m., at Skinner, 274 Cedar Hill Street, Marlborough, Mass.
