Skinner's Discovery Auction Offers Unique Gifts for the Holiday Season

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. –December 1, 2011 –Skinner, Inc. will host a Discovery auction on December 14th and 15th in its Marlborough gallery. The two-day sale features silver and jewelry, textiles and couture, as well as furniture and decorative arts. Included are beautiful sets of stemware, decanters, and Steuben glass, Victorian furniture, and a collection of jewelry ranging from classic pieces of gold, silver and precious stone, to costume and designer works by Georg Jensen and Yves Saint-Laurent. Also on offer will be a number of silk beaded dresses from the 1920s.

Skinner’s monthly Discovery auctions feature fine art finds for the ‘everyday’ collector. Recently recognized by Boston Magazine as ‘Best of Boston for antiques west of the city’ each month’s sale lets buyers not only discover but also own snapshots of history.

To view the auction property prior to the auction, attend the preview in person on Tuesday, December 13th, 12-5 p.m., Wednesday, December 14th, 10-6 p.m., or Thursday, December 15th, before the auction, 9-10 a.m., at Skinner, 274 Cedar Hill Street, Marlborough, Mass.
