Skinner June Discovery Auction Features Silver, Jewelry, Couture & Textiles

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – June 14, 2010 – www.skinnerinc.com June is great time to check out Skinner’s monthly Discovery auction.  This month, Skinner’s special Discovery features include a wide offering of Fine Silver, Estate Jewelry, and a great selection of Vintage Couture & Textiles.

The auction kicks off on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. with over 240 lots of coin, sterling and silver plated flatware, plus serving and decorative silver items, including a number of Georgian silver and American makers such as Gorham, Whiting, Durgan, and Towle.   Following silver is more than 400 lots of jewelry including a nice group of Georg Jensen jewelry, antique and estate pieces, several nice Art Deco pieces, and a broad offering of costume jewelry.  The Wednesday evening session is completed by over 100 lots of couture and accessories include Louis Vuitton bags, a large collection of antique beaded and embroidered purses, and great menswear offerings, many pieces by Chanel, Hermès, Armani, Bill Blass, and Dolce & Gabbana.

On Thursday, June 17, 2010, the auction begins at 10 a.m. and includes Discovery’s usual offering of fresh estate goods from 18th, 19th and 20th century.
