“With the move to Marlborough, we look forward to showcasing the space with our valued long-time buyers.  We also hope to draw some new local buyers into the auction experience,” notes Kerry Shrives, director of Skinner’s Discovery department.  “Skinner Discovery Auctions aren’t just a wholesale venue – they’re open to anyone and there’s never a charge to attend.”  She continued, “We’re looking to educate consumers about the viability of buying art and antiques at auction.  It’s actually more affordable and accessible than most people may think.  We also recommend that first time auction goers attend the auction preview, held the day before the sale, to see the property that will be coming up for auction.  The preview also gives first-time buyers the opportunity to ask questions of our experts and learn more about the items they are interested in bidding on.”

Held monthly, Skinner’s Discovery auctions offer something for every buyer and seller, every taste and budget.  Skinner’s Discovery auctions are a great way for novice antique buyers and first-time auction goers to get their feet wet and experience the fun and affordability of buying at auction.
