MARLBOROUGH, MA – February 9, 2017 – Skinner, Inc. is hosting Discovery-Interiors, an online-only auction, running from February 9 through February 17. Interested bidders are invited to view items and meet with specialists in person on February 14 from 12-5 PM and on February 15 from 10 AM – 7PM or anytime online.

The auction features furniture, ceramics, memorabilia, Asian art, lighting, fine art, and textiles including:

♦ Over 100 lots of 18th, 19th, & 20th century timepieces including an E. Howard & Co. No. 5. Regulator, a Jaeger-LeCoultre “World” clock, Chelsea and French figural clocks, Vienna regulator clocks, presentation banjo clocks, tall case clocks, and more.

♦ Objects related to travel, exploration, and science; featuring a R.E. Byrd expedition globe and pamphlet, Underwood & Underwood stereoview cards, Buff & Buff Mfg. Co boxed transit, microscopes, titles on the sciences and astronomy, vintage luggage, and more.

♦ A wide array of toys and collectibles, highlighted by a Lionel Girl’s Train Set in pastel colors, a German lithographed tinshop steamtoy, Buddy-L and Hubley toy vehicles, plush animals, games and dolls.

♦ Music objects and memorabilia highlighted by a Wurlitzer “One More Time” 1015 Juke Box, a Nudie Cohn signed convertible top boot with dozens of celebrity autographs, and a Duran Duran, Rio, 1982 RIAA certified platinum record award.

♦ 19th & 20th Century Theatrical and Performance Posters, including “The Forgotten Woman,” and “A Barrel of Money,” Clark Stanley’s Snake Oil Liniment Advertising, World War I and II posters, and international travel and tourism posters.

Previews, Catalog, and Bidding

All lots offered at Skinner may be viewed online or in person, and specialists are available to answer questions, setting our auction house apart from internet-based auction companies. Previews for Discovery Interiors Online auction are open to the public and will be held in our Marlborough, MA gallery on Tuesday, February from 12- 5PM and on Wednesday, February 15 from 10AM –  7PM. Each lot in the online catalog displays the current bid, asking bid, and time remaining in the auction, in addition to detailed images and condition information. Place a bid for the next bidding increment, or place a maximum proxy bid and the system will automatically bid competitively up to that price. Lots begin a staggered close on Friday, February 17 at 10AM.
