Asian material will be featured in this Discovery sale with more than 250 lots on offer. Interesting examples include a pair of Chinese T’ang-style glazed ceramic horse figures (lot 1252, estimated between $800 and $1,200) and various other figurines including an Asian bronze figure depicting a seated female with child (lot 1024, $600 to $800).
Glass, Porcelain & Ceramics
A brilliant cut glass bunch bowl (lot 1276, $300 to $500) will be offered, along with many other items for entertaining, including an 82-piece Flow Mulberry Ironstone partial dinner service (lot 1188, $1,500 to $2,500). The set is in the Corean Pattern, manufactured by Podmore, Walker & Company, England, circa 1850. A seventy-piece Spode Partial Dinner service in Colonel Pattern (lot 1300, $200 to $300) will also be sold. Lot 1338 ($200 to $300) is a set of hand-painted ceramic tiles by Minton Hollins. These beautifully rendered and evocative tiles make use of a temporal theme and feature the months of the year and the four times of day.
Furniture and Textiles
Several mahogany furnishing include a classical circular table with central diamond-shaped inlay (lot 1192, $300 to $400) and a mahogany hunt board with tapering legs is available (lot 1185, $800 to $1,200). Interesting textiles include Northwest Persian Shahsavan Soumak Cargo Bags in various sizes (lots 1196 and 1126, both estimated between $150 and $250).
