Signed and numbered "Wesselmann/AP 3/6" in pencil on the reverse, inscribed and titled "TOM WESSELMANN/1986/97/AP 3/6/.../10 1/2" X 11"/OIL-ALKYD/ON CUTOUT/STEEL" in ink on the reverse, inscribed "2310-126A/TOM WESSELMANN/STEEL DRAWING EDITION/MONICA SITTING WITH LEGS SPREAD/1986/97 AP 3/6" on the wooden storage boards.
Alkyd oil on cut-out steel, 10 1/2 x 11 inches (26.7 x 27.9 cm).
Condition: Good.
Provenance: Gift from the artist to Marcus Ratliff; estate of Marcus Ratliff, Vermont.
N.B. Wesselmann created this work as a fundraising effort in support of Médecins du Monde in an edition of 25, with 6 artist's proofs (published by the artist and Éditions de la Tempête, Paris; Tom Wesselmann Digital Corpus registration number E23). He retained the artist's proofs, including this example which he gifted to his friend Marcus Ratliff, a fellow artist and graphic designer. Hanging instructions and hardware accompany the lot.
