Condition: Minor losses to marble at verso left side below the shoulder, at left wrist, and a loss of part of the stylus, small chip to marble base at verso right corner, minor surface abrasions/pitting, never sited out-of-doors.
Provenance: Purchased from the artist by Edward Francis Searles (American, 1841-1920); Estate of Edward Francis Searles; to B. Allen Rowland (1920); by purchase on July 7, 1957, to the current private collection.
