Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets online features over 200 lots of antique rugs, carpets, and textiles from the Caucasus region, Persia, Anatolia, and Central Asia. Skinner is pleased to present two collections; one from a noted Connecticut dealer in fine carpets who is retiring and closing his business; and a second equally fine grouping from a noted Winchester, MA collector. Of particular interest are several room-sized carpets that will appeal to any buyer’s decorative taste.
These include outstanding examples of Serapi, Bidjar, and Fereghan Sarouk weaving. Noted Turkoman weaving include a superb Tekke Torba, a fine Tekke Chuval, as well as an early Chodor main carpet, and a nearly mint Yomud Chirpy, or formal coat. Numerous Caucasian rugs in good pile and in original condition are included from two Virginia collections.
