American Naval Cutlass, third quarter of the 18th century, forged iron hilt with large oval counter-guard and rolled quillon and narrow knuckle bow; carved maple grip; American straight single-edge blade with false edge on the curved tip, blade lg. 26 1/4, overall lg. 30 3/4 in.

Hilt toned to gray/brown and has a little movement on the blade tang; blade is bright with mottled gray toning, blade edge has several scattered nicks.
