American Silver Hilted Calvary Officer's Saber, last quarter of the 18th century, the hilt with narrow silver guard and long quillon, plain tapering knuckle bow connecting to the base of the flat oval pommel, spiral carved cherry grip with narrow ferrule; gently curved single-edge American blade with no false edge or fullers, blade lg. 31, overall lg. 36 1/4 in.

Silver toned to a dark gray with scattered mottling, grip has an overall brown patination with small chips and abrasions, grip is slightly loose on the blade tang; blade toned to brown/gray with areas of light surface oxidation, tip is a bit blunt.
