American Horseman's Saber. c. 1775-85, brass hilt with two branches extending from an elliptical counter-guard to a tapering knuckle bow, turned pommel with tall capstan, carved cherry grip with thin brass wire wrapping; slightly curved single-edge blade with one narrow fuller, blade lg. 33, overall lg. 38 3/4 in.

Hilt has a small crack between the two branches where they joint the counter-guard, hilt is a bit loose on the blade tang; blade has a mottled gray surface with a few small areas of minor pitting.
