An Austrian Model 1767 and a Spanish Model 1752 Socket Bayonet, 18th century, the Austrian bayonet with a three step mortice for a top mounted bayonet lug, marked "No 3" on the bottom above the small hole near the base, curved shank connecting to the triangular blade marked "X" at the base with fuller near the tip and two deep fullers along the underside, socket lg. 3 1/8, blade lg. 13 1/2 in.; the Spanish bayonet with three step mortice for a top mounted bayonet lug, curved shank connecting to a triangular blade marked "993" at the top, with a narrow fuller at the tip and two deep fullers on the underside, socket lg. 3 1/4, blade lg. 13 in.

The Austrian bayonet is toned to a deep brown with minor to moderate underlying pitting; the Spanish bayonet is toned to a mottled gray/brown with minor underlying pitting.
