English Basket Hilt Broadsword, late 17th century, iron basket hilt with plain straps and panels, ovoid pommel with tall peen, stag horn grip; straight double-edge blade with single wide fuller marked "IHN SOLINGEN" and with a bladesmith's mark below, blade lg. 32 3/4, overall lg. 38 3/4 in.

Iron has a mottled gray surface with minor to moderate underlying pitting; hilt and grip are tight; blade has corrosion at the tip.
