British Officer's Sword, c. 1778-80, iron semi-basket hilt with four scrolling branches connecting to either side of a central knuckle bow with openwork counter-guard and tall pommel, skin wrapped grip with brass wire wrapping; straight single edge blade with false edge at the tip, one wide and one narrow fuller, blade lg. 33 3/8, overall lg. 39 1/2 in.

Iron has an oveall gray appearance with spots of darker mottling; hilt is a little loose.
