British Cavalry Sword, third quarter of the 18th century, heavy iron semi-basket hilt with large counter-guard, wide triangular device in the knuckle bow and flat ovoid pommel, leather wrapped grip with double iron wire wrapping; massive straight double-edge blade with three narrow fullers, blade lg. 37 1/2, blade wd. 1 15/16, overall lg. 43 1/2 in.
