Engraved Gilt Brass British Officer's Gorget, England, third quarter of the 18th century, the raised brass gorget with rolled and iron wire reinforced edge and punched arrow decoration on the ears, the front with engraved British coat of arms consisting of a lion and unicorn flanking a crown and shield above a ribbon engraved "DIE [sic.] ET MON DROIT," (most of the gilding worn away),5 3/8, wd. 4 3/4 in.

Gilding largely worn from front with traces remaining in the recesses and around the embossed decoration on the ears, the back toned to a dark brown/yellow. No obvious damage or repair.
