Chippendale Carved Mahogany Serpentine-front Five-legged Card Table, New York, c. 1755-1780, with pronounced squared corners and boldly shaped sides above a shallow conforming apron joining cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees ending in claw-and-ball feet, ht. 27 1/2, top wd. 32 1/4, top dp. at corners 16 1/2 in.

minor repairs to skirt and leg dies, right left leg broken and reglued; crack to knee of right rear leg; left front leg split at juncture to skirt and reglued; lacks hidden skirt drawer; missing glue blocks; abrasions to skirt and knees; scratching and staining to the top; slight staining to right side rail and shrinkage to left side rail; slightly tinted wax added to small scratch marks where the top was abraded by the swing leg.
