European Works of Art Online
Our November European Fine Art auction offers over 100 paintings and drawings from the Old Masters through the early 20th century. Highlights include Biblical, allegorical, and mythological works, fine English and European portraits, hunting scenes, genre pieces, marines, and still life. Among the great variety of artists included are Guercino, Hubert Robert, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Henry Alken, J.F. Herring, Edgar Hunt, Robert Salmon, and Charles Soulacroix. More recent works include a detailed illustration in oil showing the loading of a lifeboat on the Titanic by Fortunino Matania, three works by Austrian artist Alfred Schwarzschild, and Harold Speed’s portrait of his wife taking tea in a sunny garden.
