American Dragoon Saber and Scabbard, last quarter 18th century, brass hilt with wide openwork counter guard and down-turned quillon, urn-shaped pommel and curved horn grip, on a curved single-edge blade with false edge at tip and single wide fuller on each side; original leather scabbard with evidence of tooled surface and brass throat and button; blade lg. 29 11/16, overall lg. 35 3/4 in.

Brass toned to a dark yellow/brown, right side of horn grip has a small area of insect damage hear the pommel; blade is bright with scattered gray/brown mottling; scabbard has surface loss and is missing the tip.
