British Naval Cutlass, mid-18th century, iron hilt, the exterior with old darkened gold paint having a large concave disk counter guard with rolled quillon, wide knuckle bow with large concave disk in the center and cylindrical iron grip, curved single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single narrow fuller on each side, both sides of the blade stamped with a crown over "GR," blade lg. 29 7/8, overall lg. 34 3/4 in.

Knuckle bow is pressed a little inward and has old darkened gold paint on the exterior; blade has an overall gray (possibly old thin gray paint) surface.
