Description:

Breguet No. 2858 Month-going Mahogany and Brass Floor Regulator, completed on December 31st, 1931, sold on December 31, 1937, arched brass frame with three-paneled glazed sides and full-length door, figured mahogany rear panel, and raised paneled base, 8-in. dia. silvered roman numeral dial, signed "Breguet No. 2858," subsidiary seconds below 12, polished Breguet hands, rectangular plate movement with turned pillars, Graham dead-beat escapement adjustable jeweled pallets and train, mounted on brass bracket, and attached to backplate over a steel block, three adjustable screws with locking nuts, regulated by an elinvar rod, cylindrical brass bob, adjustable timing weight tray, and micrometer beat-setting arm and brass weight, ht. 68 in.

Note: With framed Breguet certificate stating it was sold on December 31st, 1937, to a Monsieur Pusy.

Appears to be original gilt surface on case frame with wear in spots, no chips or cracks to glass, mahogany base in clean condition. Interior back panel and bottom with slight surface scuffs. Dial with silvering loss around winding hole. Two holes in case back behind movement for mounting to wall. Slight oxidation to weight and pendulum bob. Gut stringing is frayed in spots, movement complete but was not running when picked up from the house.
