Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669)
Self Portrait Leaning on a Stone Sill, 1639, final state of two, probably an 18th century impression (Hollstein, 21ii/ii). Signed in the plate. Etching on laid paper, sheet size 8 1/8 x 6 3/8 in. (20.5 x 16.2 cm),framed.
Condition: Unobtrusive toning and staining, foxing, adhered to the backing mat at each corner, tear to lower edge.
Provenance: A Massachusetts estate.
