Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure, areas of alligatoring, scattered abrasions, areas of thin pigment, minor surface grime.

Provenance: Charles Spada Collection.

N.B. This copy, thought to be 19th-century, is based on an original oil by Raphael or his studio in the collection of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, where it was exhibited as early as 1589.
