Two Malcolm Wright (American, b. 1939) Tea Bowls, Vermont, late 20th century, conical form with ivory glaze spattered with brown, impressed artist's mark, ht. 3, dia. 6 1/2, conical form with beige curved lines on dark brown ground, impressed artist's mark, ht. 2 1/4, dia. 6 in.
Note: Born in Minnesota, with a BA from Marlboro College, an MFA from George Washington University, and apprenticeship to 12th-generation Japanese potter, Tarouemon Nakazato in Karatsu, Japan, and working directly under Takashi Nakazato, Malcolm Wright has brought to his work a diversity of sources.
