Frog Baby
Signed "E. BERGE ©" on the top of the bronze base, stamped "ROMAN BRONZE WORKS.INC. N.Y." along the bottom edge of the bronze base.
Bronze with green patina, plumbed as a fountain, height 17 1/4 in. (43.5 cm),on a painted wood plinth.
Condition: Oxidation and wear to the patina more pronounced along the base and the figure's toes from water exposure, small areas of verdigris, base appears to have been altered or patched to allow for the placement of the plumbing works in the interior.
Estimate $3,000-5,000
The water comes out of three frog fountain heads on the top of the base. The underside is fitted with a threaded nozzle.
