Signed "Max Kruse" on the side of the bronze base, titled on the front of the base, marked "Aktien Gesellschaft/vorm.H.Gladenbeck u. Sohn" on the edge of the base.
Bronze with brown patina, height 13 in. (33.0 cm) to the top of the scroll, on a red marble plinth.
Condition: Dust and dirt to interstices, very minor surface scratches.
N.B. The title of the sculpture translates to "We have won!" the cry attributed to the runner Pheidippides after reaching Athens from the battle at Marathon bearing news of the Greek victory over the Persians.
