Two Works: River Landscape with a Tower and a Watermill and River Landscape with a Village
Initialed "M.B." l.c. and l.l., respectively.
Both oil on panel, 11 x 15 in. (28.0 x 38.0 cm),in period or antique frames.
Condition: Retouch, each panel with horizontal crack at the bottom edge reinforced with a 3/8 in. wood strip on the reverse, Village with a second horizontal crack 2 in. up from the bottom edge and with a gouge at that point to the reverse, both with other very fine horizontal surface cracks, scattered shallow abrasions, fine craquelure, minor surface grime.
Provenance: Acquired by the current owners at Christie's London, Old Master & British Pictures, July 11, 2008, Lot 36.

Framed dimensions are 17 1/4 x 20 3/8 x 2 1/2 inches. The left vertical fillet on one frame is detached but included.
