Giuseppe Verdi, The Great Operas. London: The Societe Universelle Lyrique, 1899. Two volumes, white and red boards with gilt stamping, (wear), 16 3/4 x 13 1/2 in.
Provenance: Estate of Nedda Casei.
Note: Nedda Casei (1932-2020) was an American mezzo-soprano, performing in the world's major opera houses and appearing in operas such as Rigoletto, Carmen, La Traviata, and Madama Butterfly. Perhaps her most enduring legacy, though, was her tireless work as an advocate to enact laws to protect and benefit performing artists. She also served as the first female president of The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), a post she held for ten years.
