Large Hawaiian Poi Bowl, 'Umeke la'au pakaka, early to mid-19th century, probably Kou wood, with quite thick sides, used for serving poi at feasts, with numerous native repairs including butterfly inlays, looks to have been broken in two and repaired, with shellac surface, (age cracks and some surface loss on the bottom),ht. 7, wd. 14 in.
