Pre-Columbian Figurative Flute, Veracruz, c. 250-950 AD, the tubular flute of characteristic form, a pair of decorative flanges flare out from the sides, the mouthpiece below a standing priest figure, with arms outstretched, a large jade bead below the nose, wearing lengthy tunic and elaborate feathered headdress, a circular pierced disk at back, (restoration to break on stem),lg. 12, wd. 5 1/2 in.
