Eastern Woodlands Elm Bark Model Canoe, Mashpee band, Wampanoag of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, fourth quarter 19th century, outfitted with woven grass mat and angled seat back, bow with sinew string and three arrows with clay arrowheads, feather fletching, rolled up woven grass mat, red pottery vessel with plant material, yellow-tinted pottery bowl with two pottery ears of corn on a bed of plant fiber, two pottery bowls, and a bound bundle, on a custom made stand, with inscription, which reads: "Small tree Kialani of Mashpee to his Christian friend Jonas 1887," lg. 18, wd. 4 in.
