Smith, Samuel F. (1808-1895) Autograph Letter Signed and Autograph Stanza of America Signed, Newton Center, Massachusetts, 12 November 1888. Four-page letter on lined paper addressed to Smith's brother consoling him over the loss of his son, (blind-stamped in u.l. corner, old folds, some slight toning),8 x 5 in., accompanied by autograph signed stanza of "America" on lined paper, dated 11 December 1888, (blind-stamped in u.l. corner, with old fold through signature),7 x 4 1/2 in., with original mailing envelope addressed to Miss Annie C. Fay, (some toning),3 x 5 1/2 in.
