Roosevelt, Franklin Delano (1882-1945) Typed Letter Signed, Albany, New York, 14 November 1932. Single sheet of State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead, typed on one side, to Claude Maer responding to a request for historic wood to be incorporated into a gavel to be used at the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, Roosevelt writes that he is sending a piece of wood from Fort Cralo in Rensselaer, where "Yankee Doodle" was supposedly written, (old folds),10 1/2 x 8 in.
