Unsigned, identified on a presentation plaque.
Oil on panel, 27 1/2 x 20 3/4 in. (70.0 x 53.0 cm),in a possible Newcomb-Macklin frame.
Condition: Hairline crack to panel at l.c. edge, retouch, craquelure, areas of possible overcleaning, frame abrasion, panel partially reinforced and fabric-covered on the reverse.
Provenance: Ker Arvor, Newport, Rhode Island.

Framed dimensions are 34 3/4 x 28 3/8 x 3 inches.
Small vertical cracks measuring a total of 2 inches located l.c. edge.
Retouch is primarily to the edges of the composition, with some multiple brush marks to u.l. corner and l.r. corner. Some minor retouch along the edges of the uppermost tulip and outside the white flower l.r. Two horizontal cradle reinforcements near top and bottom edges of the reverse, with no apparent damage, cracks, or retouch to the recto in those places. Minor surface grime.
