Ralph Wood-type Toby Jug, England, late 18th century, underglaze translucent polychrome enamels, modeled seated and holding a tankard, a pipe by his side, ht. 9 7/8 in.

Hat brim with areas of glaze loss and glaze retouch. Light and scattered glaze nicks to hands, jug and coat cuff. Pipe restored. Hairline under back and extending partially up a back corner.
