Pair of Staffordshire Bocage Musicians, England, early 19th century, each polychrome enamel decorated, the woman playing a mandolin with a lamb by her side, the man playing bagpipes with a dog by his side, ht. 7, 7 1/4 in.
Provenance: Ker Arvor, Newport, Rhode Island.
Estimate $300-500
Woman: Scattered chipping to raised florets; flake rto the end of one of the lamb's ears; ribbon glaze misfired; scattered green enamel flaking on the backside.
Man: Bocage with a chip repair and restored florets, and repair to break through at tree trunk; chip to backside of feathered headdress.
