Titled, attributed, and dated ".../By I.L. Casita/about 1845" on a handwritten gummed label affixed to the stretcher, inscribed "I.L. Casita" on the back of the stretcher, titled and attributed on a faint period label affixed to the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 31 x 40 1/4 in. (79.0 x 102.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Lined, old retouch, fine craquelure with areas of shrinking, minor paint losses, areas of thin pigment, varnish discoloration.
Provenance: A Cambridge, New York, estate.
