Federal Mahogany Inlaid Demilune Console Table, attributed to Matthew Egerton, Jr., Brunswick, New Jersey, 1795-1805, an inlaid fan centered at the back edge of the top, outlined in stringing and banding, on a conforming skirt inlaid with stringing joining square tapering legs with bookend panels, bellflowers, and stringing, ending in cuffs, refinished, (minor imperfections),ht. 35 1/2, wd. 33 1/2, dp. 18 1/2 in.
Provenance: Purchased at a Sotheby's auction in 1953.
Note: A shadow of the cabinetmaker's label can be seen on the rear rail of the table.
