Pair of Denshichi Kanzan (1821-1890) Satsuma Vases, Japan, 19th century, oviform with slightly flaring tubular neck and banded mouth rim, resting on a bisque foot ring, the body decorated with mountain-and-water landscapes in two lobed panels, against a nashiji ground with foliate branches in ink, the neck with a lobed lappet band against a floral and foliate scrolls and patterns, "Dai Nihon Kanzan sei" mark in underglaze blue on base, ht. 18 5/8 in.
