New York, privately printed by the De Vinne Press, 1906, two large folio volumes, limited edition, copy number 85 of 100, printed on American hand-made paper, illustrated with an etched portrait frontispiece of Bishop and ninety-seven plates, including thirteen original watercolor drawings by Li Shih-Chuan, thirty-six colored lithographs, thirty-one copper engravings and seventeen woodcuts, many of the plates with two or more figures per page, with additional text illustrations and ornaments, diagrams, maps and facsimiles; bound in uniform dark brown gilt by Stikeman, gilt-lettered on spines, watered-silk pastedowns and endleaves, leather joints, top edge gilt, others uncut; ex libris Medford Public Library with perforated stamps to title page, 24 3/4 x 19, wd. to 5 in.

Very good condition, light toning to a few pages and plates, very few pages with minor foxing, fingerprints to some pages, minor tear to leather binding of one volume, several scuffs to exterior of both volumes, minor nick to leather cover of one book, pastedowns loose, three pages in each volume stamped "Medford Library, Medford Mass," both title pages also with one line inscription hand written.
