Maximum! from Oeuvres de Frédéric le Grand and Men with their Pipes.Men, Christina Chalon (Dutch, 1748-1808),signed "Christina Chalon f" in ink on the verso, ink on paper, 2 3/8 x 4 3/8 in., matted, unframed; XII, Adolph von Menzel (German, 1815-1905),signed and dated "Ado Menzel 1882" within the plate, identified and titled on the backing mat in pencil in a later hand, printed reproduction on paper, possibly a bookplate, sheet size 4 7/8 x 10 3/4 in., matted, unframed. Condition: Men with small area of whiting on the recto corresponding with one foxmark to the verso, XII light-struck, minor soiling to upper corners in margins, extremely minor pale foxing, extremely pale water stain to u.l. edge.
