Signed and dated "FREDERIC M. GRANT/'16" l.r., titled on a presentation plaque.
Oil on canvas, 16 1/4 x 18 1/8 in. (41.0 x 46.0 cm),in a probable Newcomb Macklin/Stanford White style frame.
Condition: Canvas deformation with a line of craquelure u.c., pigment fluorescence, probable retouch to matte gray pigment, surface grime.
Exhibitions: 30th Annual Exhibition of American Oil Paintings and Sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago, November 8, 1917-January 2, 1918, no. 86.

The frame is constructed with the corner construction typical of Newcomb Macklin. The front of the frame is painted over.
