Oil on canvas, 20 x 28 in. (50.5 x 71.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Fine dots of retouch to u.l. and l.r., stable craquelure, varnish discoloration, very minor surface grime.

N.B. The painting at hand was examined in person by Michael Quick, who determined that it is the work of George Inness, painted in about 1868 or 1869. A letter from Michael Quick dated December 28, 2020 accompanies the lot and confirms the painting will be included in the supplement to his catalogue raisonné of the work of George Inness.

Framed dimensions are 26 3/4 x 35 1/4 x 2 1/4 in.

Very minor paint loss (1/4 inch wide) to l.r. corner. The darker areas visible under UV was thought to be retouch, but it may be original to the composition. Please see condition photos.
