Portrait of Mary Christina Moir. Identified, signed, and dated "J. Downman/…1794" c.r. Black chalk and watercolor on paper, sight size 7 1/2 x 6 in. (oval opening),framed. Condition: Toning, mat burn, minor foxing, pale staining, not examined out of frame.
N.B. Mary Christina Moir (c. 1780-1813) was born in about 1780 in Scotland. Mary married Baron Alexander Fraser on April 20, 1795 in St. Nicholas, Aberdeen, Scotland.
