Provenance: Quail Horse purchased at Gasperi Folk Art Gallery. Pear-toe Suzie purchase at Gasperi Folk Gallery in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bird painting purchased at Jay Johnson America's Folk Heritage Gallery, New York, New York.
Note: Highlighted in the 2017 Colby-Sawyer College exhibition Inner Visions: Selections from the Collection of Beverly Stearns Bernson. Moses Tolliver was born in Montgomery, Alabama, to a large family. He worked odd jobs until an accident at work limited his mobility. He filled the time honing his art; using house paint and plywood to create colorful works.
