Yasuo Kuniyoshi (Japanese/American, 1893-1953)
Four Nudes, alternatively titled Café on the Boulevard Clichy, 1928, edition of 44 (Davis, L28). Signed and dated "Y. KUNIOSHI 28" in pencil l.r., numbered "41/44" in pencil l.l., identified on handwritten label affixed to the backing. Lithograph on chine collé, image size 9 3/8 x 13 1/4 in. (23.5 x 33.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Gentle light-staining, pale mat burn, gentle rippling, not examined out of frame.
Provenance: A private New Hampshire collection.

Out of the frame the sheet measures 12 3/4 x 18 1/4in., and has a deckled lower edge. Outside of the mat burn the margins are stained. There are pencil annotations to the lower margin and brown paper tape/reside near the upper corners. There are pencil and stamped annotations to the verso as well as a strip of white cloth tape along the lower and upper edges (still to verso).
