The Gate (Das Tor), 1912, from the portfolio Die Schaffenden, total edition of 125 (Prasse, E52). Signed "Lyonel Feininger" in pencil l.l., signed, titled, and dated "...Wednesd'y, Sept. 4. 1912" in the plate, dry stamp from Die Schaffenden l.l., identified on a label from R.S. Johnson Fine Art, Chicago, affixed to the backing paper. Etching on heavy tan vellum-style paper, plate size 10 5/8 x 7 7/8 in. (26.9 x 19.9 cm),framed.
Condition: Full sheet with deckled edges, gently light-stained and pale mat burn, minor soiling to margins, pencil annotations to verso.
