La Jeune Veuve, plate 72 from Les Fables by Jean de La Fontaine, 1952, from the edition of 100 (Cramer Books, 22). Signed "Marc Chagall" in pencil l.r., inscribed "72" in pencil l.l., signed within the plate. Etching on laid Montval paper, plate size 11 3/4 x 9 3/8 in. (29.7 x 23.7 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Full sheet with deckled edges, pale mat burn, breaks to fibers along upper edge of plate mark, small tear to deckles at corner u.l.
