Haus in Witebsk, from Mein Leben, 1922, total edition of 110, published by Paul Cassirer, Berlin (Kornfeld, 11c). Signed "Marc Chagall" in pencil l.r., numbered "71/110" in pencil l.l. Etching and drypoint on paper, plate size 7 3/8 x 9 7/8 in. (18.7 x 25.0 cm),framed.
Condition: Deckled left edge, mat burn, unobtrusive toning, several pale fox marks, pencil annotations to verso.
Provenance: Purchased from Gerhard Wurzer Gallery, Inc., Houston, in 1996, by the current private Massachusetts collector.
N.B. This is from the edition of 84, which, according to Kornfeld, was numbered from 27/110 to 110/110. A copy of the invoice from 1996 accompanies the lot.

The sheet measures 13 3/8 x 17 1/2 in., the top, bottom, and right edges very slightly uneven. The frame is 18 1/4 x 20 x 2 1/4 in.
